Today, Monday, January 29 is Leader Appreciation Day, honoring St. Anne Parish, School and Community Leaders. Students will participate in various activities to show appreciation to the different leaders who help to shape our school.
We’re also kicking off our school-wide Service Project benefitting Bernie’s Book Bank.
Students are working together to collect 2,100 gently used children’s books. Each student is asked to donate a minimum of 6 books (gently used or new, appropriate for PK – 6th grade reading levels).
It’s easy as 1-2-3!
- Donate books for your own book shelf!
- Donate books from your neighborhood – Send a text or email and offer your house as a drop off point or collect them as you knock on doors.
- Donate books from friends and family – Post on social media or send an email
Deposit all books in the collection bins at school by Friday, February 2, when we’ll announce our total collections at our school-wide assembly.
If you’re a child born into a middle-class family in this country, you have an average of 13 age- appropriate books in your home. But if you’re a child born into less fortunate circumstances, you have one book to share with 300 other children in your neighborhood.
St. Anne Parish School can help to change that statistic!
What’s happening the rest of the week?
Tomorrow, Tuesday, January 30 is Student Appreciation Day, with dress down and no homework for all students. Students will also attend a Cultural Arts Assembly.
Wednesday, January 31 is Teacher Appreciation Day, celebrated through a Faculty Luncheon provided by the Home & School Association.
Thursday, February 1 is Buddy Day, celebrated with service projects with your buddies and a School Liturgy.
Friday, February 2 is Spirit of Service Day. We’ll celebrate with SAS spirit wear (and uniform bottoms), the culmination of our school-wide Service Project with Bernie’s Book Bank and an all-school assembly.
