St. Anne Parish School 8th grade is designed as a high school preparatory year. Our middle school model allows the 8th graders to leave a legacy of leadership after 3 solid years of service and formation.
Our 8th grade Math curriculum is one that is aligned to the Common Core State Standards yet is enriched with opportunities that allow for the completion of the second half of an Algebra 1 course. It focuses on further developing understanding of expressions and equations; solving equations and systems of equations; understanding linear, quadratic, exponential, radical, and rational functions. Geometric reasoning is developed with the study of right triangles bringing a more complete understanding of the Pythagorean theorem and trig ratios. Finally, students continue practicing drawing inferences from data collections.
