In fourth grade, students grow in their faith, knowledge, and 21st-century learning skills. We engage the students’ hearts and minds and strengthen their confidence allowing them to become advocates for their own academics and behavior. The fourth graders God-given talents and creativity shine through fun, meaningful, student-centered instruction in Common Core Math, ELA, and Next Generation Science Standards. Fourth grade students practice higher levels skills in the areas of communication, critical thinking, digital literacy, and problem-solving to mature into responsible students and citizens in our world.
Religion – Students grow in faith knowledge through the Sadlier We Believe curriculum and strengthen their relationship with God with reflection, prayer, community outreach programs, and practicing how Jesus lived throughout the day.
Math – Students learn math using the common core standards. With the use of manipulatives, drawing pictures, writing to explain and standard algorithms, students are able to relate math to everyday life.
Social Studies –Students learn U.S. geography through interactive projects and activities. Students research topics for PowerPoint presentations and cooperative learning reports.
Science – Students discuss and solve real-world STEM problems using the Engineering Design Process.
English/Language Arts/Reading – Students enhance their reading and writing skills using a variety of texts (literature and informational), novel studies, and independent reading goals.
